We are happy to say that we are going ahead with our major fundraiser, the Celebrity Walk & Breakfast, in the same format as last year!

A Drive-thru Breakfast presented by Best Western and Desjardins will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 6:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Participants will receive a ticket which they may exchange for a free, hot breakfast sandwich and coffee to start the day.

To participate, you may join a “Celebrity” team and make a personal, tax deductible donation of $100.00. Alternatively, you may obtain pledges from your colleagues, family, friends or neighbours to make up the $100.00 request. Every donation, no matter how small, is valuable! To recognize your Celebrity status, your name and photo will appear in a major print campaign in the Standard-Freeholder.

The counselling services provided to child abuse victims and their families at the Children’s Treatment Centre are made possible through donations and continuous fundraising. Again this year, the Centre has been faced with the difficult challenge of being unable to hold the majority of its fundraising events, the main source of its revenue.

The Clinical Staff at the Children’s Treatment Centre has continued to provide face-to-face counselling to child abuse victims and their families without interruption except for a short period of time at the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic last year.

The need for the Centre’s services has increased since the onset of Covid-19. I hope that you will become a “Celebrity” to ensure the Centre’s ability to provide hope and healing to children who seek its help.
