Celebrity Roast with Guy Lauzon

Wonderful time had by all Friday night, September 19th at the expense of well known MP Guy Lauzon who was roasted by his friends and colleagues all in support of the Children’s Treatment Centre.

Eric Duncan, SDG Warden & Mayor of North Dundas was the emcee and did not miss an opportunity to aim jokes at his boss’ age, career and frugalness. Also taking their turns with witty barbs and comical banter were Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada, Mr. Peter MacKay; Senator for Rigaud, Quebec and former coach of the Montreal Canadians Hockey League, Mr. Jacques Demers; the Minister of State (Democratic Reform) Mr. Pierre Poilievre. His wife, Mrs. Frances Lauzon and Mr. Jim McDonell also had a few comments of their own to add. Guy took his turn at the end of the evening with his retorts and then thanking everyone for coming and raising funds for such a worthy cause as the Children’s Treatment Centre.

A fun filled and unforgettable evening which included a delicious dinner at the Best Western Parkway Plus was had by all. The Dinner and Roast is an important fundraiser raising funds every year from the ticket sales and donations for the Children’s Treatment Centre. Special recognitions to Scotiabank Team Community Program Volunteers who matched the proceeds from the sale of tickets for the Dinner and Roast up to $5,000.00 and we also received a major donation from The Robert Campeau Family Foundation whose Vice Chair & Trustee is Ms. Judith Wilcox, she is also a patron of the Children’s Treatment Centre.
